Unhappy With Vivint or ADT?

ProTECHt takes over existing alarm systems from Vivint, ADT, Brinks, and other providers. We keep your existing sensors where possible, upgrade your monitoring, and save you money every month — with zero pressure and a free assessment.

Why Indianapolis Homeowners Switch

Sound Familiar?

You're Not Alone.

These are the most common reasons Indianapolis homeowners call us to switch. If any of these sound like your situation, we can help.

💸

"My rate keeps going up"

Vivint, ADT, and other nationals regularly increase rates after year one. Your “locked in” rate wasn’t as locked in as they implied. ProTECHt locks your rate for your full term, guaranteed in writing.

📞

"I can never reach anyone"

National companies route every call through a 1-800 center. Nobody knows your system, your history, or your name. When you call ProTECHt, you talk to the same local team that installed your system.

📜

"I'm stuck in a long contract"

Vivint runs 42–60 month contracts. ADT runs 36. Many homeowners discover they’re locked in long after they’ve stopped being happy with the service. We’ll review your contract and tell you exactly where you stand.

🔧

"The equipment is outdated"

Older ADT and Brinks panels don’t have smart home features, app control, or Alarm.com integration. You’re paying monitoring fees for 2010-era technology while your neighbor has a fully connected smart home.

🏠

"I just bought a home with an old system"

Many homes come with an existing alarm system that’s unmonitored, outdated, or tied to a company the previous owner used. We can assess it, take it over, or upgrade it, whichever makes the most financial sense.

📱

"I want smart home features"

Older systems can’t control locks, thermostats, cameras, or lights from an app. Upgrading to Alarm.com adds all of that — often without replacing your existing door and window sensors.

Common Questions

Switching to ProTECHt

FAQ

Can you take over my system without replacing everything?

In many cases yes — especially if your sensors are from ADT, Brinks, Guardian, or Honeywell. We assess everything for free and tell you exactly what can be kept. Vivint and SimpliSafe are proprietary and usually need a new panel, but your door and window sensors may still be reusable.

What if I'm still under contract?

We’ll review your contract and tell you your exact cancellation date and any fees. If you’re within a few months of the end, it often makes sense to wait. If you have longer remaining, we’ll calculate whether switching now makes financial sense after factoring in the early termination fee vs what you’d save.

I just bought a house with an existing system. Can you monitor it?

Absolutely — this is one of the most common calls we get. We’ll assess the system and either take it over with Brinks Home monitoring or upgrade the panel. Most existing systems can be brought under Alarm.com monitoring at a fraction of what nationals would charge.

Will my rates go up after I switch?

Most takeover installs are completed in under 2 hours. If we’re upgrading to a new IQ Panel 5 and keeping existing sensors, it’s typically around 90 minutes. We’ll give you a realistic time estimate during the free assessment.

How do I cancel my current monitoring contract?

Most companies require 30 days written notice sent by certified mail. We’ll walk you through exactly what to send, when to send it, and what to say. We’ve helped dozens of Indianapolis homeowners make this transition — it’s simpler than you think.
